Bhutan East to West Textile Tour 2024

Bhutan – the land of Gross National Happiness, fluttering prayer flags, majestic monasteries, mountains and undisturbed ecology.  

 

It is also a land of remarkable handloom textiles 

 Still worn as their national costume.

​

We will travel overland from the East to the West through villages and valleys seeking out weavers & dyers as we go, stopping at monasteries and incredible views to breath in this magical land.

 

We start our Journey in Delhi, take a flight to Paro west Bhutan, and then another internal flight to the East.  On entering Bhutan we will be met by our English speaking Bhutanese guide who will remain with us at all times.   We will travel by car/bus (large and comfortable) through Bhutan.  Staying at 3* hotels in the west, the remote east offering more modest & simple food & accommodation and a chance to get off the tourist trail and explore villages to find the weavers & dyers.

We leave Bhutan in the west, returning to Delhi by air.

Extra Costs in India:  

Eating out in India – budget for £3-5 for a good basic meal. 

Visa approx. £30

You will need a total of approx. £50 in cash to cover food in India.

Extra shopping will depend on your budget.

Cancellation – 

Should you cancel, the following scale of charges will apply. Cancellation more than 60 days before the trip starts - loss of deposit. Between 41 and 59 before the trip starts - 30% of balance.
Between 29 and 40 days before the trip starts - 60% of balance 
Less that 28 days before the trip starts - 100% of total Balance.  

It is recommended that you purchase appropriate travel Insurance to cover for any unexpected cancellations etc.  

 

Other Bits. The trip will run with a minimum of 6 people, maximum 12.  A full refund will be made if the trip does not go ahead.
