The snow leopard Journey Delhi - Agra - Ladakh

A Himalayan wildlife spotting adventure with a visit to the Taj Mahal

Join Harry and Matt on an adventure to Ladakh to spot rare high-altitude wildlife including snow leopards, wolves, lynx, ibex, blue sheep, argali, and more. We have been working closely with local Ladakhi guides and trackers, combining their knowledge with our experience in ethical travel and environmental science, to provide you with a once in a lifetime experience that also has a positive impact on the communities we visit.

Ladakh is a unique high-altitude plateau, nestled between the Karakoram Range and the Great Himalayas. You will travel over some of the world’s highest passable roads surrounded by snow-capped mountains, frozen rivers and cliff side Buddhist monasteries. In January, snowfall pushes animals to lower altitudes, offering one of the best opportunities to witness the elusive snow leopard in its natural habitat.

We love Ladakh for wildlife spotting because of its unique high-altitude ecosystem, that creates the perfect conditions for a variety of species to thrive.

A study published in May 2025 revealed that Ladakh has one of the highest densities of snow leopards in the world, making it the perfect location to try and see one of the rarest and in our opinion most beautiful big cats on our planet.

Our journey begins in the backstreets of Delhi, giving you a gentle introduction to the real wonders of India. We embark on a day trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal before flying to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. From here, we begin our journey into the mountains, stopping to explore ancient Buddhist monasteries before arriving in remote villages nestled deep in snow leopard territory.
